6-Week Pottery Course, Basic I
Starts: Thursday evening, April 9th. 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM. This does not include cleanup.
Cleaning the potter's wheel will not deduct from your lesson time.
Lessons are taught in small groups of a maximum of 5 people, so there's plenty of personal guidance.
Have you always wanted to work on a potter's wheel and learn to throw properly? Then you're very welcome to join this beginner's pottery course.
In this 6 week pottery course, you'll learn the basic techniques of throwing on an electric potter's wheel.
This beginner's course focuses primarily on the basic techniques of throwing on an electric potter's wheel:

*kneading clay (walking)
*centering and drawing
*shaping and finishing.
*The final lesson focuses on glazing.
In six lessons, we focus on the various techniques and the process of pottery making.
The most important thing in this course is practicing and gaining proficiency in the process.
So, it's not about producing as much as possible, because the foundation must be solid
before you can move on.
After your pieces have been bisque fired, you can glaze them and they are then fired again (glaze firing).
In this course, we use white stoneware clay, which is fired at stoneware temperatures,
making them dishwasher-safe.
You can take home a maximum of 6 finished pieces per person.
- Missed lessons cannot be made up, but you can use
the Open Studio instead.
- It is also possible to continue practicing and delve deeper
into the art of ceramics in the Open Studio after the basic course.
Instructor: Barbara Jans
Cost: 6 lessons: €345.00. Includes: clay, glazes, biscuit,
and glaze firing.

And… “You can't grow without making a mess.”
So bring your own towel and apron to keep your clothes clean and for even more turning fun!
